We currently have an opportunity for a:

Lead Instructor Therapist

Autism Services

Temporary, Full-Time Position - 35 hours/week (until November, 2020)

***Some evening and / Saturday work will be required***

***Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license is required***


Job Summary:

Working under the supervision of the Senior Therapist, the Lead Instructor Therapist will support and assist the team in providing both teaching and behaviour management services for children and youth with autism. This will include both one-on-one and group work. You may also be responsible for:


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Delivering direct service
  • Assisting in the development of behavioural programs and monitor progress
  • Prepare teaching materials
  • Assist with the implementation of behavioural assessment procedures
  • Assist with staff orientation and training
  • Participating in treatment planning
  • Liaising with parents providing support to various treatment teams
  • Travelling between sites



  • College diploma or a university degree in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Autism and Behaviour Science).
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering behavioural programs to children and youth with ASD.
  • Experience in a variety of settings and with various instruction types (e.g., home, clinic, classroom, 1:1, small group instruction, natural environment teaching) is an asset.
  • The successful candidate will have experience dealing with challenging or inappropriate behaviours and will have proven leadership skills within a team environment.
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel is required for this position, the successful incumbent must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to obtain automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical.
  • Candidates Bilingual in English and French will be given special consideration.
