Instructor Therapist

Ontario Autism Program - Durham, Simcoe and York Region

Temporary, Part-Time & Full-Time Contracts – up to 35 hours/week

***SUMMER POSITIONS AVAILABLE***

***Some evenings and Saturday work may be required***

***Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s licence is required***

 

Job Summary:

We currently have opportunities available for Instructor Therapists to provide Applied Behaviour Analytic services to children and youth with autism and their families under the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). In these positions, you will be working with children and youth in home and group-based settings, both one-on-one and/or facilitating group instruction.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct service to clients
  • Facilitate skill acquisition and group programming
  • Liaise with parents
  • Prepare teaching materials
  • Monitor the client’s progress
  • Assist with the implementation of behavioural assessment procedures
  • Participate in treatment planning, program writing, and report writing
  • Travelling between sites

 

Qualifications:

  • Community college diploma or a University degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, autism and behaviour science, early childhood education).
  • ***Consideration will also be given to candidates currently completing a college diploma or a University degree***
  • Experience in the field delivering intensive behavioural intervention programs would be an asset.
  • Travel is required for this position; the successful candidate must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to obtain automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical.
