Kinark Child and Family Services is a leading child and youth service organization in Ontario which provides a wide range of evidence-based services that include individual, family and group counselling for children and youth with complex needs and their families.  Kinark’s three program streams include: Community-Based Child and Youth Mental Health, Autism and Forensic Mental Health/Youth Justice.

We currently have an opportunity for a:

Senior Analyst, Financial Accounting

Regular, Full-Time – 35 hours

Location: Corporate Head Office, Markham


Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting, the Senior Analyst, Financial Accounting is responsible to aid in the determination and achievement of the Financial Accounting goals and objectives.  Provide financial/data analysis and reporting, and support to the Financial Manager; and Supervise Accounts Receivable and Payables duties.



  • Develops integrated Service Planning templates for budgeting
  • Prepare Ministry reports for review and submission by Supervisor
  • Provide timely, innovative and responsive Service Planning reports to Business Managers.
  • Establish and meeting internal reporting timelines
  • Generate Annual Childcare Tax Receipts
  • Generate ad-hoc reports on request


  • Provides timely FTE Calc templates/reports for monthly forecasting
  • Provide daily cash flow updates to meet future financial obligations


  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Receivables duties, and OHIP Billings
  • Review Cheques and EFT Payment for management approval
  • Occasionally process A/P batches and Payments when needed
  • Occasionally process A/R Sales batches 
  • Send Addition and Deletion letters to MOHLTC
  • Add and Delete Providers to OHIP billing Software


  • Review and Reconcile OHIP Billings and Recoveries
  • Review and reconcile General Ledger Entries
  • Reconcile Account Sub-Ledger to General Ledger 
  • Reconcile Bank Accounts to General Ledger
  • Transfer funds within Kinark Bank Accounts
  • Monitor Bank Accounts and Cash Flow adequacy to meet on-going financial obligations



  • Advanced skills with MS Excel, Office 365, OneNote and experience with accounting software (Great Plains and BI360) would be an asset
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial controls, not-for-profit accounting and ministry reporting standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-oriented with superior analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Finance background, diploma or degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA, CA , CGA,CMA ) preferred
  • 5-10 years senior financial experience
