Kinark Child and Family Services is a leading child and youth service organization in Ontario, which provides a wide range of evidence-based services including child care programs. Kinark’s Child Care Centres are licensed through the Ministry of Education and have been in operation in the Keswick area for 29 years. Kinark Early Childhood Educators facilitate a child-centered program for children aged 2 to 12 within a warm and nurturing environment that supports all aspects of the child’s development, allowing the child to engage, explore, inquire and interact with others in play.

Assistant Supervisor of Child Care Services

(1) Regular Full-time Position

Effective September 2018

York Region - Keswick, ON

Regular, Full-time Position Hours: 40 hours/ week



 The successful candidate will provide leadership in the day to day operations of our Child Care Centre and oversee both the School-Age Satellite and All Our Kids Programs.  Duties and responsibilities include the recruitment, management and supervision of staff.  To provide leadership and resources in the delivery and operation of the program.  To develop and manage the programs policies and procedures.  Through motivation and monitoring the candidate will support staff in developing the highest curriculum and standards of care.  This candidate will develop strong partnerships between parents/ guardians, communities and other professionals. Is knowledgeable of the Child Care and Early Years Act, keeping current with all legislative changes and requirements.  The successful candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead effectively in a team environment.   



  • An Early Childhood Education Diploma
  • Current membership and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Knowledge with licensing requirements of the Child Care and Early Year’s Act.
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR Level C designation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer competency is required
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical. 
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to personal vehicle. 
  • Candidates Bilingual in English and French will be given special consideration.
