Communication IT Intern/Co-op 


Information Technology Department 

  Temporary, Full-Time – 35 hours*/Week - $15.00 per hour 

Duration: 4 or 8 month terms

Start Date:  August 27, 2018

Job Summary:   

The Information Technology Department at Kinark has a paid Communications IT internship position available to a recent graduate or a full-time student who is actively pursuing a college or university degree in preferably Communications, Business or related.  As a Communications IT Intern, you will be involved in a variety of projects within the IT Department. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the IT Department with upcoming projects and initiatives
  • Participate in supporting and improving the organization’s intranet 
  • Create step-by-step training materials for staff members on new technologies
  • Design a wide range of high-quality digital collateral including PowerPoints, graphics, event materials, presentations, communications plans, public service announcements, and other branding identity materials — from concept to production
  • Perform other related duties


  • Have an interest in personal growth and development
  • Possessing or having achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA is considered an asset
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator  
  • Interest in communications and technology  
  • Interest in helping children and youth with complex needs 
  • Quick learner with a “can do” attitude who is adept to change and multi-tasking  
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Self-starter who succeeds in a collaborative team environment 
  • Ability to develop professional documents and presentations
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365, OneDrive, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledgeable in a wide range of technology 
  • Experience with web design is an asset
