Accounting Intern/Co-op

Information Technology Department

  Temporary, Full-Time – 35 hours*/Week - $15.00 per hour

Duration: 4 or 8 month terms

Start Date: August 27, 2018

Job Summary:  

 The Information Technology Department at Kinark has a paid accounting internship/Co-op position available to a fulltime student or recent graduate who is either actively pursuing a college or university degree in Business/Accounting. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to Project Coordination and Management, Business Analysis, Administrative Functions, Presentations, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Analysis.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to create multiple financial/cost modelling structures using Microsoft Excel
  • Assist IT Management with reconciling and revising month-end reports
  • Assist in creating and reviewing the IT budget for the fiscal year
  • Assist IT Management with coordinating and managing projects & initiatives
  • Conduct data and process analysis of ongoing or new projects
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities as required
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Other related and assigned duties

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possessing or having achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA is considered an asset
  • Detail-oriented with superior analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Quick learner who is adept to change and multi-tasking 
  • Self-starter who succeeds in a collaborative, team environment
  • Ability to develop professional presentation materials
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365, OneDrive, and Outlook)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre- Employment Medical
  • Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset
