Child Care Worker

York Region - Keswick, ON


Temporary, Part time position hours

24.25hours/ week – 7:00-8:30 and 2:30-6:00 4 days a week and 7:00-8:30 and 2:30-5:15 1 day a week.


Relief position *Hours are not guaranteed, the candidate will be required to work split shift.


The candidate will be required to be available for longer

days during school holidays and summer.


SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  The successful candidate will plan and implement age appropriate, creative programs for children 4 - 12 years which meet the needs of children, including children with special needs.  The successful candidate has the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently, and has effective interpersonal and communication skills.  This position includes some light housekeeping duties.  The position will require staff to work split shifts and must have availability to work longer days during school holidays and summer. 



  • Grade Twelve Diploma with some experience in child care setting
  • Minimum of six months related experience
  • Knowledge with licensing requirements of the Child Care and Early Year’s Act.
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR Level C designation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer competency is required
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical. 
  • Candidates Bilingual in English and French will be given special consideration.
