We currently have an opportunity for a:

Clinical Therapist

York Region (Vaughan and Aurora)

Regular, Full-Time – 35 hours*/week

 

*Please note this position may require the successful candidate to work evenings and or weekends.

The position will require travel between sites in York Region

 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Clinical Therapist will provide individual and family assessments in a children’s mental health setting in our facilities situated in Vaughan and Aurora, but will be based out of the Vaughan location. As a member of an inter-disciplinary team, the successful incumbent will deliver individual, family and group therapy using evidence based approaches. This will be achieved in tandem with youth and families by using both an evidence-informed and strength-based approach within a treatment context. Individuals with a strong background in delivering a range of clinical treatment services to children, youth and their families, in a children’s mental health setting is required.

 

Qualifications:

·         A Master’s of Social Work Degree with at least two years of direct service experience, or a Bachelor’s of Social Work Degree with a minimum of three years’ experience in a children’s mental health setting.

·         Must be registered and/or in the process of registering with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).  

·         Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, case management experience, working with diverse cultures, and computer competency is essential.

·         Candidates need to have a solid foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

·         Candidates that have experience working with  families  with complex needs.

·         Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Triple P, and DBT Therapy are assets.

·         Experience working with up to 0-6 clients would be an asset (0-6 is a program for younger youth and is often requires specialized training)

·         Travel is required for this position; the successful candidate must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to obtain automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars.

·         Candidates Bilingual in English and French will be given special consideration.
